Program for Active Learning - Outdoor Education

In Lesson (1), 1F pupils sat in a circle. They wrote their names on the cards given and took turns to share something about themselves with the class. Some were very shy. With the help of classmates, everyone had their name card pasted on their back. The real fun began when the children had to walk to their friends and wrote down something good about them on the cards. There was a lot of smiles and giggles as some tried to peek at what was written on their cards.
Back in class, the children had fun learning simple cheers. They played the 'Blanket' game where they formed 2 groups and competed to see which team could call out the names of their classmates from the other team. This was a great way to build relationship among the children. I have learnt some new tricks from the trainers.

In Lesson (2), 1F pupils learnt some fun ways of doing cheers. The children looked really adorable when they did the cheer and actions. I love their macho cheer most. In the 2nd activity, pupils pen down something unique about themselves. These information were written on the board. 1F children had to read them and match 5 of them to the correct friends. There was a lot of interaction among the children.
In Lesson (3), 1F pupils learnt different types of cheers and cheers. They had a lot of fun doing the chants and cheers with hilarious actions. Their laughter sounded like music to the ears.
In Lesson (4), 1F pupils learnt how to tie knots - thumb knot, the figure of 8 knot, slip knot and reef knot. I was impressed by those who picked up the skill quickly. Some even coached their classmates patiently. I am very proud of all the children who kept trying until they could do the knots. That is the spirit of perseverance.
A Big Thank You to Ms Kinah and Brother Nate for being such wonderful trainers.
