1F pupils started off with the usual routines for a few minutes. Mr Pand picked a group of girls to demonstrate to the class how team work and good stretching postures looked like.
The children tried out the routines again. They were much more focused and communicated more actively during the group routines.
The lesson ended with the class playing the hula hoop game. The children always had a good laugh as they tried to roll the hula hoop together. It was heartening to see the children on the lookout for their team members and making sure everyone was safe.
It was hilarious to see the children squeeze themselves within the hula hoop and moving together 'clumsily' in order to move forward. I could see that the children were able to manoeuvre skilfully with their peers towards the finishing line. The lesson ended with the usual debrief. Aufa and Hayden shared what they had learnt during the lesson. 'Cooperation' and 'team work' had become their common lingo.
