1F children started the lesson with the warm-ups and basic stretching exercises. I was glad that Mr Pand addressed some of the pupils' query on why they had to practise these routines again. I agreed with him that though the routines may seem repetitive and 'boring', they were necessary so that the children learnt to coordinate and work together through the drills. I could hear many of them whispering encouraging words to their friends and enjoying the drills. I am delighted that 1F children were receptive to Mr Pand's words.
Today, the children played the Hula game and jumping exercise. I could see that the children enjoyed the Hula game most, especially when they have to stay within the hoop and walk together towards the finishing line. Laughter filled the air. Those who completed their rounds walked next to their peers and whispered suggestions on how to stay on track. Occasionally, these self-appointed 'coaches' would move forward to lend support when they saw their classmates losing their balance. I am proud of their kindness towards their friends.
During the debrief, Mr Pand invited the children to share their feelings about the lesson and what they had learnt. I was heartened by the positive comments shared by them and how they expressed their views confidently.
