Program for Active Learning - Visual Art (7)

In this lesson, 1F pupils brainstormed with their group members about how they would decorate their monsters. Many brought interesting materials like buttons and ribbons. I could see that the children worked cooperatively to dress up their monsters. I liked their resourcefulness as they used the buttons as eyes, nose and more. Some cut out interesting shapes and patterns from the coloured papers given to add details to the monsters too. I admired their confidence.

A showcase of the decorated monsters by our very own Endeavour artists! Perhaps we would have our Singapore's production of Monsters, Inc. soon :)
I shared some close-up shots of interesting details seen in some artworks with the children. It helped to sharpen their observational skills.
1F children cut out the puppets they had designed in the 1st lesson so that they could use them in their story-telling in the next lesson. I was happy to see most of the children handle the scissors competently. For the few who struggled, I think they had managed well without help even if their puppets had jagged edges. With more practice, they would become more skilled :)
