Ms Atikah started the lesson by getting 1F pupils to recall what they have done during the last lesson. She also reinforced the ground rules. The children had to complete the colouring of the trees, birds and flowers drawn in the previous lesson before painting the background. I think the effects were stunning.
After completing the painting of the background, it was time to paint the 'buildings'. I enjoy watching the children each holding a paint brush and exploring ways to paint competently. I gave them some suggestions on how to handle the brushes and useful painting techniques too. Some children came up with their own ways to paint and eagerly shared them with their peers. Experimentation is a good way to learn.
In the last activity, 1F pupils discussed where they would like to paste their cut-outs on the board. I love the way the children listened patiently to one another and negotiated the best location for the cut-outs on the board. So proud of the way they worked cooperatively.
